"They brought me out of retirement. I didn't want to do it. They brought me out of retirement and here I am." Boone on being pulled back into the fight — he didn't ask for this mission but when the call came, he answered. That's what warfighters do. You don't retire from service. You just change the battlefield.

Again, appreciate you for having me. And I mean, this is y'all's world. I'm just taking a peek into it. They brought me out of retirement. I didn't want to do it. They brought me out of retirement and here I am. So I appreciate you for having me on. Sure, sure, sure. So before we start with this, we are an all veteran podcast. And so, you know, all our guests are vets. So if you don't mind, give a little overview of your service. We're all three Marines here, all three O3s. So yeah, tell us about your service brother. Yeah. So I essentially dropped out of college. I was playing college ball and I wasn't having it. Grades weren't great. You know, just college, whatever. Anyway, I dropped out, joined the Marine Corps back in the 19, early 20, I've been early 20 May of 2012. So 2012, I went in and I ended up on a fast company contract. which would have been 8152. Fast Company contracted. Fast Company went up there and went through, you know, boot camp SOI. They have BSG on his security guard course and then went to a Fast Company platoon. I don't know if y'all know Major Fred Galvin. He was my first company commander. He wrote a few bad men. He got demoted and kicked out for quote unquote war crimes, but found innocent after that. But you know what I'm talking about, Fred Galvin, Major Fred Galvin? I don't, but it sounds like a good book that I want to read in a story. Check him out. Check him out. A few bad men. He was a raider. Anyway, he got in trouble for Afghanistan for, well, I won't spoil it. You can read the book. Check it out. What did he get in trouble in Afghanistan for? Um... It wasn't the pissing on. War crimes. No, that was a separate platoon. That was a bunch of snipers, and that was at my fault. You're going to get me in trouble, man. I'm starting to get me in trouble. I don't want to relive it. But no, that was a separate time. He was with Raiders. The pin on the bodies, I'm pretty sure, was – don't quote me on this, 39 scout snipers. But – I believe it was 3-2 scout snipers. They were actually the guys that ripped with us in Musa Kala, Afghanistan, and I knew exactly where all of that took place. They were the guys that did a replacement in RIP, whatever the RIP stands for. Yeah, close enough. I don't have an extreme deep knowledge on that. Like I said, y'all have been around it. Like I said, dude, I haven't touched this stuff in like eight years. Anyway, so I did fast company, ended up in, we did DM school, at Damned Neck, had some crossings with some guys up there. That was fun, fantastic course. Great instructors, great instructors.
